Apply nowAbout NextCommit
NextCommit is an AI-powered college recruiting platform.
An athlete builds a profile. We score it and show them their real division level. We show them every college program with an open spot at their position, in their class year, across 45,000+ coaches at 2,000+ schools. We write a personal email for each coach. The athlete approves it and sends it. Then they see who opened it, who replied, and who watched their film.
The software does not sit across from a family and tell them what it means. An advisor does.
The Role
Advisors work one-on-one with athletes and their families through the entire recruiting process, under the NextCommit name.
You run your own book. You find athletes, you sign them, you manage them through the process, and you are the person that family calls. You can work our list of 10,000+ uncommitted athletes already in the recruiting process, your own network, or both.
Commission Split
We work on a commission split: 70% to the advisor, 30% to NextCommit.
The same split whether the athlete came from our system or from your own network. 1099 independent contractor. No hourly wage, no salary, no draw, and no cost to you.
What Your Athletes Get
Every athlete you sign has the full platform:
- Unmatched coach access: 45,000+ coaches at 2,000+ schools across 10 sports, from Power 4 programs to high-academic D3s and JUCOs
- Complete school profiles: tuition cost, academic selectivity and enrollment size, so a family can match programs to their budget and their grades, not just the logo
- Elite roster analytics: open roster needs, projected division level and NIL valuation, to identify the programs where an athlete fits right now
- Hyper-personalized messaging: AI writes each email around that program's recent record and the coach's bio alongside the athlete's own achievements
- Intelligent follow-ups: strategic follow-up scheduled automatically, so nobody has to decide when or how to send the next message
- Bulk send and scheduling: select 15 schools or 150, personalize instantly and schedule them out in advance
- Real-time tracking center: opens and responses as they happen, every conversation in one Message Center
- Native X integration: every coach's X handle is in the database; one click opens a direct message without leaving the platform
- Automated questionnaires: coach questionnaires pulled into NextCommit and auto-filled from the athlete's profile, so the next step never dies in a forgotten browser tab
You manage your entire book from an advisor dashboard: where every athlete stands, which coaches have been contacted, who opened, who replied, and who has gone quiet.
How Much You Work Is Up To You
This is your practice, not a shift. There is no quota, no minimum and no set hours. Carry two athletes or twenty-five. Run it around coaching, training, school or another job.
What you put into it is what you get out of it. The tools take the ceiling off. Outreach that takes an independent advisor a weekend takes minutes here, so how far you take this is your decision, not an administrative limit.
What We Expect
Honest expectations with families. We do not promise placements, offers or scholarships, and neither do you. What we show a family is activity: coaches reached, opens, replies, film views. Advisors who oversell get removed.
Consistency. Recruiting is a long process. Athletes go quiet, parents get anxious, and the advisor who stays in contact is the one families keep.
You represent NextCommit. You are using our name with coaches, athletes and parents. That carries a standard, and we hold it.
Who We're Looking For
This is an advisory role, not an entry-level one. Families will ask you questions that need real answers, and they will know within one conversation whether you have them.
Required:
- Genuine working knowledge of college recruiting: divisions, eligibility, the timeline, how coaches evaluate, what the transfer portal changed
- Direct experience in college athletics, club sports or high school sports
- Comfortable starting conversations with people you do not know
- Able to run your own week with no supervision
- Organized enough to carry a full book without dropping anyone
The strongest candidates are:
- Independent recruiting advisors already working with families
- Former college athletes who went through the process themselves
- Current or former high school and club coaches
- Recruiting coordinators, directors of player development, club directors
- Athletic directors and former college coaching staff
Professional sales experience helps. It is not the bar. Being trusted by families is the bar.
What Matters Most
- Honest with families about where an athlete actually stands
- Self-motivated and able to run your own week without supervision
- Consistent. Recruiting is a long process and athletes go quiet
- Organized enough to carry a full book without dropping anyone
- Comfortable starting conversations with people you do not know
- Comfortable on the phone and on video
- Genuinely interested in the athletes, not only the enrollment
If you want a role where someone hands you a script and tells you what to say, this is not it. If you have been doing this informally for families in your area and wondered what it would look like with real tools and a real pipeline behind you, this is exactly it.
Who This Is Not For
If you need a guaranteed wage, want a fixed schedule handed to you, or need someone to teach you college recruiting from scratch, do not apply.
If you need somebody checking in to keep you moving, do not apply.
How to Apply
Apply below with your résumé or LinkedIn profile and answers to the following:
- Your background in college athletics or recruiting.
- Are you currently working with athletes? How many, and what do you charge?
- What do families get wrong most often about recruiting?
- In 200 words or less: why you. What do you bring that we cannot hire twice over?
Candidates who move forward have a call with our team to walk through the product, the dashboard and the economics.
